Why Families in the US Choose Online Shia Quran Classes
Online Shia Quran classes let your child learn the Quran without leaving home. At ShiaEdu, a Shia online Quran academy, each lesson is a live video call between one tutor and one student.
In the US, many Shia families live far from a Shia centre, and weekend classes can fill up fast. Learning online fixes that. There is no long drive after school, and no waiting list.
It also keeps the teaching Shia. Your tutor follows the Shia tradition, so what your child hears matches what you say at home.

How an Online Class Works, Step by Step
You book a free trial on WhatsApp. We match you with a tutor and send a link for Zoom or Teams. At the set time you open the link, and the tutor is there.
In the trial class, the tutor listens to your child read and asks a few simple questions. Then they suggest a starting point. If you like it, you choose how many days a week to study. If not, you owe nothing.
Because each lesson is one to one, the tutor can slow down or move ahead as your child needs. Parents get a short progress note every month.
What you get in every online lesson:

Lessons That Fit Your Time Zone
The US spans several time zones, so we match your tutor to your clock. Classes run seven days a week, in the morning, after school or in the evening.
Tell us when your family is free and we will find a slot. If school or work changes later, the lesson time can change too.

Raising Children Who Know Their Faith in America
American children spend long hours at school and in activities, and most of what they see around them has nothing to do with the Ahlulbayt (A.S.). If Quran lessons are fitted in only when there is time, they are the first thing to go.
A fixed lesson time at home, with a tutor who teaches in the Shia tradition, gives your child a steady rhythm. Parents in New York, Texas and California often say it is the first time their children have looked forward to their Quran lesson.
- Building a clear Islamic identity rooted in the Ahlulbayt (A.S.)
- Reading the Quran with correct pronunciation
- Learning to love the Quran and the family of the Prophet (S.A.W.)
- Staying connected to the faith from a young age
Courses You Can Study Online from the US
Each course is taught live, one to one, and can be studied by children or adults. Many families begin with Qaida or Tajweed and add Namaz or Aqaid later.
Not sure where to begin? The tutor will suggest a course after the free trial, and you can add a second course later. The courses page lists every course in full.
Shia Families in Every Corner of the US
The US is a big country, and a Shia centre may be hours away. Online lessons let a family in a small town learn exactly like a family in a large city.
🏙️ The Northeast
New York, New Jersey and nearby states, where families already have busy school weeks.
🏙️ The South
Texas, Florida and neighbouring states, with large distances between Shia centres.
🏙️ The Midwest
Illinois, Michigan and the surrounding states, for families who live far from a Shia teacher.
🏙️ The West Coast
California and Washington, with lessons after school or at the weekend.
🏙️ The Mountain States
Colorado, Arizona and neighbours, where local Shia classes are rare.
🏙️ Small Towns
Anywhere with an internet connection, however far from a city.
Namaz, Fiqh Jaffari and Everyday Practice
Shia Namaz is taught from the first steps: Adhan, Iqamah and each obligatory prayer, with the right posture and the right words. A tutor who listens to your child pray can fix a small mistake in one lesson, which is much harder to do years later.
The Fiqh Jaffari course explains the everyday rulings for prayer, fasting, purity and halal and haram, following Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (A.S.). Students living in the US also learn how to apply them at school, at work and while travelling.
For older students, tutors read short passages from Nahjul Balagha with them and talk about what Imam Ali (A.S.) taught on patience, honesty and justice. The Ziyarat course adds the supplications that many families recite together.
Online Shia Quran Classes for Kids in the US
Young children learn best in short, friendly lessons. Our tutors keep each session calm and simple, with plenty of praise and a little repetition. Most children begin with the Arabic letters and sounds, then move on to reading the Quran.
Younger children often do well with a parent close by for the first few weeks. After that, most are happy to learn on their own. Read more about our Shia Quran tutors for kids to see how we teach children.
Online Shia Quran Classes for Adults in the US
Many adults feel shy about starting late. A private lesson takes that worry away. Nobody else is watching, and you set the pace. You can learn in the evening after work or early in the morning.
Some adults want to read the Quran for the first time. Others want better recitation or a clearer grasp of its meaning. If you are new to the faith, your tutor starts with the basics and never rushes you.
What You Need to Start Learning from Home
You do not need anything special. Most families already have it all.

- An internet connection that can hold a video call
- A quiet corner and a copy of the Quran
- The Zoom or Teams link we send you
Girls and women can ask for a female Shia Quran tutor. Whichever tutor you pick, the first class is free.
Why Families Choose ShiaEdu for Learning at Home

What Our USA Students Are Saying
Trusted by Shia Muslim families across Texas, California, New York and beyond — here is what our students and parents have to say.
“We live in Texas and finding a qualified Shia Quran teacher locally was nearly impossible. ShiaEdu solved that completely. My son now has weekly one-on-one sessions with a certified Shia scholar and his recitation has improved massively.”
“The Fiqh Jaffari classes are exactly what our family needed. Living in California, we struggled to find authentic Shia Islamic education for our children. ShiaEdu's teachers are knowledgeable, patient, and deeply rooted in Ahlulbayt teachings.”
“I requested a female Shia teacher for my daughters and ShiaEdu arranged it without any difficulty. The teacher is wonderful — kind, experienced, and my daughters genuinely enjoy their sessions every week.”
“ShiaEdu scheduled our classes perfectly around the Eastern time zone. The free trial was a great way to see the quality first-hand before committing. Highly recommend to any Shia family in the USA.”
