How We Select Our Tutors

Why Selection Matters

A Quran teacher does more than correct pronunciation. For a Shia family living far from a Shia centre, the tutor is often the main person teaching their child the Quran, the Aqaid and the way of the Ahlulbayt (A.S.). That is why every tutor at ShiaEdu, male or female, passes the same careful steps before teaching a single student.

Our Five Selection Steps

1. Application. The tutor applies and tells us about their religious education and teaching experience.
2. Interview with Maulana Muntaziri. Our founder interviews every applicant personally about their knowledge, their manners and how they teach.
3. Recitation and Tajweed test. The applicant recites the Quran, and their pronunciation and rules of Tajweed are checked.
4. Aqaid and Fiqh Jaffari check. We check their understanding of Shia beliefs and everyday rulings, so that what they teach matches what Shia families learn at home.
5. An observed trial lesson. The applicant teaches a demo lesson while it is observed. Only after this are they allowed to teach students.

Tutors who teach young children are also expected to be patient, gentle and encouraging, and to follow our child safety policy.

Meet the Tutors Who Passed

The names, subjects and teaching experience of our tutors are shown on their profiles, so you can choose with confidence. Browse all our Shia Quran teachers, or go straight to our male Shia Quran tutors.

Whichever tutor you choose, your first class is free, so you can see their teaching for yourself before paying anything.

What This Means for Your Family

• Correct recitation from the first lesson, with Tajweed taught properly in our Shia Tajweed classes online
• Teaching that follows Fiqh Jaffari and the teachings of the Ahlulbayt (A.S.)
• Male and female tutors at the same standard and the same fee
• One tutor who stays with your child, week after week

This is how ShiaEdu works as a Shia Quran academy that families across the world can trust.
