1. Our Promise to Parents
When you trust us with your child’s Quran and Islamic education, you trust us with your child. Every rule on this page exists so that parents always know who is teaching their child, what is being taught and how. Every lesson is live and one to one: one tutor, one student, at a time the family chooses.
2. Parents Are Always Welcome
- A parent may sit beside the child during every class. Many parents do this in the first weeks, and some stay for every lesson.
- A parent may join the same video call from another device to watch the lesson and see exactly how the class works.
- You can speak to the tutor after any lesson about your child’s progress, or message us at any time.
We encourage families of younger children to keep the device in a shared room of the house, such as the living room, rather than behind a closed door.
3. Female Tutors for Girls
Girls, sisters and mothers can ask to learn with a female tutor. Many families prefer this, and we are glad to arrange it at the same fee. You can meet our female Shia Quran tutors before you book.
4. Contact Only Through Parents
Tutors contact only parents. A tutor never contacts a child privately, by message, call or social media, outside the class. Class times, links and progress notes go to the parent, and any change to a lesson is agreed with the parent.
5. Who Teaches Your Child
No tutor teaches a child at ShiaEdu until they have passed our selection steps: an interview with Maulana Muntaziri, a recitation and Tajweed test, a check of their Shia Aqaid and Fiqh Jaffari, and an observed trial lesson. You can read every step on our page about how we select our tutors.
6. A Respectful Islamic Environment
- Lessons are calm, patient and age-appropriate, with plenty of encouragement.
- Classes are not recorded without written consent, as our Terms explain.
- Class links are for the student and family only and are not shared with others.
ShiaEdu is an online Quran academy for Shia kids and adults, and children are at the heart of what we do. For young learners we also have dedicated Shia Quran tutors for kids who keep lessons short, friendly and focused.
7. Raising a Concern
If anything in a lesson ever worries you, please tell us straight away on WhatsApp or through our contact page. Every concern is taken seriously and looked into by our team.
